USTA/Mid-Atlantic Foundation (USTA/Mid-Atlantic) is seeking a full-time exempt Senior Manager, Community Tennis that will report to the Senior Director of Programs and Services. The Senior Manager, Community Tennis provides leadership and a systems-based approach to expanding tennis access and participation across the Mid-Atlantic Region. This role oversees school-based tennis strategy, community access initiatives, and key introductory pathways, while directly managing a multidisciplinary team responsible for grassroots activation and partnership support.

The Senior Manager, Community Tennis position advances participation growth by cultivating and expanding school and community partnerships, supporting advocacy efforts that protect and increase access, and ensuring strategic alignment across programs serving youth and broader communities.

Job Duties And Core Responsibilities School Programs and Initiatives (60%)
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive schools tennis strategy aligned with USTA Mid-Atlantic’s strategic plan and long-term participation growth goals.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for school-based tennis (elementary through high school), establishing clear and sustainable pathways from physical education to community-based and USTA programs.
  • Build and sustain relationships with school districts, Physical Education (PE) supervisors, and educational partners, with a focused commitment to Title I and historically underserved communities.
  • Collaborate internally to ensure school engagement efforts align with broader participation, equity, and community impact goals.
  • Other duties as requested.
Team Leadership & Program Oversight (20%)
  • Provide direct supervision and strategic leadership to staff responsible for Community Tennis Associations (CTAs), National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) chapters, Junior Team Tennis (JTT), Tennis on Campus (TOC), and other community-based initiatives.
  • Directly manage the distribution, accountability, compliance, and reporting of foundation grant programs that positively impact tennis participation and community infrastructure.
  • Ensure programs are strategically aligned, adequately resourced, and connected to broader participation, retention, and pathway development goals.
  • Cultivate a high-performing collaborative team grounded in accountability and professional development across a multidisciplinary department focused on community access and participation growth.
Advocacy & Community Access (10%)
  • Support grassroots advocacy efforts focused on protecting and expanding access to tennis in schools, parks, and community facilities, with a primary emphasis on youth participation.
  • Serve as the primary lead for community-level access conversations, working with school districts, municipalities, and local partners to reduce barriers and increase participation.
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify, advance, and support tennis facilities to support school and community-based programs.
  • Align outreach and advocacy priorities with participation data, equity goals/objectives, and identified community needs to guide investment and engagement strategies.
