Position OverviewThis position supports the Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM) G-5 Planning Support as a Strategic Planner. The MCICOM G-5 Directorate supports the development and execution of Marine Corps strategic and operational installation planning programs. The Strategic Planner provides senior‑level expertise in enterprise basing programs, installation policy development, and DOTMLPF‑C integration to align MCICOM’s capabilities with Marine Corps operational requirements.

- Provide support to MCICOM G-5 to establish and administer Marine Corps strategic and operational installation programs, projects, and actions.
- Support development of Marine Corps plans, processes, procedures, and policy in support of enterprise‑level basing programs and initiatives, including DOTMLPF‑C integration, Strategic Basing Program, Joint Basing, BRAC, Force Design, and special project capacity analyses.
- Familiarize with Marine Corps, DoD, and Service Component working groups to ensure deconfliction and synchronization with MCICOM strategic and operational installation planning and decision‑making processes.
- Assist in detailed planning related to installation matters, future installation concepts, and installation special projects.
- Develop Planning Orders (PLANORDs), Operations Orders (OPORDs), and Letters of Instruction (LOIs) to implement installation actions and planning guidance.
- Support Marine Corps responses to Congressional and public inquiries pertaining to basing actions, installation planning, and installation‑related special projects.
- Provide conference planning and meeting support, including pre‑event planning, on‑site coordination, and post‑event activities.
- Conduct reviews and propose updates to applicable orders, directives, and policies governing installation planning.
- Establish and refine Marine Corps processes and policies for managing strategic and operational installation issues and programs.
- Document, track, and communicate G-5 Plans meetings, actions, and COMMCICOM installation guidance and decisions.
- Develop and refine briefings, documents, and staff packages in support of installation planning and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Over 10 years of experience in strategic planning, installation management, or related fields.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, community planning, or facility management; or 10 years of experience as an analyst or program manager at the Service Component Headquarters or DoW level.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Prior military experience preferred.
- Prior experience working on military basing programs preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office software.
