Duties
You will directly supervise three Division Directors and indirectly lead a department of world-class scientists and engineers renowned for outstanding research and development.
You will lead, direct, and coordinate Division Directors and Focus Area Leads. You will drive short-term and long-range planning to establish, execute, and evaluate science and technology plans meeting Navy and Department of War operational needs.
You will identify and learn Department of the Navy and Department of War operational needs that require research, applied research, or advanced technology development within your department's scientific and technological fields.
You will plan the financial support needed to fund special programs, grants, and contracts required to execute the department's overall mission.
You will serve as Department Head ultimately accountable for ensuring an optimum balance and integration of basic research, applied research, and advanced technology development within the department's scientific and technological fields.
