Deburr Bench Grinder

Heroux-Devtek Inc. purchased Progressive in 2004 who helped to expand the site which has doubled its manufacturing footprint and more than doubled sales and employee base. In August 2012, Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) acquired Progressive. In January 2022 Progressive merged with ADI, Aerospace Dynamics Inc. and now ADI Progressive is one of the largest footprints within the Aerostructures Division of PCC.

Predominantly, a provider for large, highly complex machined parts, kits and assemblies for OEMs and large Tier One providers for both military and commercial market segments. Progressive is a 140,000 square foot facility.

Working under direct supervision, the Bench Grinder/Deburr – Level 1 operator performs basic deburr operations such as edge breaking and simple surface finishing tasks using deburr tools such as swivel and straight edge knives and pneumatic tools employing deburr pads to hand finish part surfaces. They will also demonstrate basic competencies in interpreting and following work instructions, including work orders and manufacturing orders, and completing shop transactions in the relevant ERP system after instruction.

The Bench Grinder/Deburr – Level 1 will report to the Operations Supervisor.

• Basic Deburr Tasks
  • Basic Break edges on Aluminum and/or Titanium components
  • Perform basic deburr tasks (Blend minor chatter marks & mis-match areas)
  • Knows which tools are required
• Ensuring tools are ready for use (sharpening of tool, fit for use)

• May be required to move items up to 35 pounds.
• Daily duties may require sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, operating, and manipulating hand tools.
• Daily duties may require extended duration of walking.
• Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery.
