Purpose
The corporate affairs team at Lidl oversees internal communications, external communications/PR, government relations and CSR/corporate giving. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter who is ready to have a hand in all parts of the corporate affairs team. This jack-of-all-trades person will be responsible for supporting the Head of Corporate Affairs and executing Lidl US’ corporate affairs strategy. The person will have a keen eye for detail, proactively manage work streams and easily work within tight deadlines.
ResponsibilitiesSupport execution of internal communications strategy
- Help develop content for internal channels (intranet, internal app, etc).
- Help maintain content calendars
- Support town hall meetings as needed (deck creation, in-person execution)
- Work with various internal teams to gather information, facilitate approvals, etc
- Draft PR reactive statements as needed
- Periodically travel to store openings
- Manage corporate donations
- Support development of CSR report
- Support employee engagement CSR initiatives
- Partner with Head of Corporate Affairs to plan and create corporate social channel content (videos, images, text, etc)
- Support executive team Linked In needs as necessary
- Support corporate website content and design
- You are task and detail oriented
- You are a self-starter; you proactively communicate project status, potential challenges and are open to feedback
- You consider yourself interested in and familiar with the majority of the following: corporate communications, brand PR, executive communications, internal communications, government relations, CSR / corporate giving
- You are eager to learn more about all aspects of corporate affairs
- You are incredible at designing all types of materials from social media content to slide decks to fact sheets to emails
- You have the ability to write engaging material on quick deadlines
- You approach work with a collaborative mindset and can easily work with various stakeholders
- You dive into your work; you like to organize work streams, create content calendars and are comfortable juggling various projects
- You have an interest in finding new ways to creatively communicate with employees
- Strong writing and design skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to changing situations and strive for constant improvement
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage diverse workload with strong organizational skills
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing or related field
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment
- Ability to work in situations that involve prolonged sitting, standing, walking, squatting and/or bending more than half the time
- Ability to operate equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists more than half the time
- Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
- Ability to identify and distinguish between colors more than half the time
- This position commutes between regional stores/offices/distribution centers less than 25% of the time
- This position requires overnight domestic travel up to 20% of the time
- Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
