The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is one of the largest trade associations in the nation, representing more than 300 heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), water heating, and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from all parts of the world. AHRI has an opening for a Communications Specialist.

Essential duties and responsibilities for this position are as follows:

Write and proof press releases, newsletter articles, and marketing messages
Manage production and distribution of AHRI’s weekly and monthly newsletters
Manage the communications calendar and send messages on schedule
Manage e-newsletter subscriptions
Coordinate with AHRI staff and vendors on a variety of communications vehicles, including Statistical Releases, Industry Sector Newsletters, and Regulatory Compliance Notices
Monitor relevant portions of the company website to ensure proper functionality, make minor updates, and suggest improved features and content

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field from an nationally accredited college/university

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Proficient in MS Office, with expert level use of Word
Familiarity with developing documents using Adobe Acrobat
Familiarity with content management systems

AHRI offers a full benefits package, a flexible work schedule, and a friendly work environment. The salary range for this position is $65,000.00–$80,000.00, based on experience

The work location for this position is Arlington, VA. Subject to supervisor approval, AHRI employees are eligible to participate in AHRI's alternate workplace program after 90 days of employment and a 90-day appraisal with a rating of Meets Expectations.
