Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Philanthropy Officer will cultivate and expand relationships with major donors as assigned in the U.S. This role focuses on the strong base of civic-minded, free-enterprise supporters—individuals, family foundations, and donor-advised fund holders who share CRC’s commitment to American values and transparency in philanthropy.

The officer will manage an existing portfolio of donors collectively giving about $1M annually and will grow that support to $2M+ through personalized engagement, events, and local visibility. Approximately 20% of time will be devoted to identifying and developing new high-capacity prospects. This position requires at least 50% travel.

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of major donors and prospects, with the goal of increasing total giving to $2M+ annually.
  • Dedicate roughly 20% of time to prospecting and qualifying new high-capacity donors.
  • Serve as an articulate, credible ambassador for CRC at donor events, salons, and public forums.
  • Plan and host regional donor gatherings and briefings that inspire giving and deepen relationships.
  • Conduct donor research, submit proposals, and manage all interactions in the CRM.
  • Collaborate with CRC colleagues nationally to align regional strategy with organizational goals.
Candidate Profile
  • Ideally, a minimum 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or philanthropy, with proven success securing major gifts. Sales experience may serve as a substitute for nonprofit experience. Entry-level, recent graduates are also encouraged to apply if you strongly identify with our mission.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills—comfortable in both one-on-one donor meetings and larger public settings.
  • Preferred - Knowledge of donor-advised funds, family foundations, and understanding of American civic, political, and philanthropic landscapes.
  • Entrepreneurial and mission-driven, with a commitment to advancing free enterprise, limited government, and individual liberty.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Why Join CRC
