Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Stepdown RN – Virginia

Start Date: March 9, 2026

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts; every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Cardiovascular stepdown unit caring for post-cardiac surgery patients transitioning from ICU
• 13-week contract in a 21-bed specialized cardiac unit
• 4:1 patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Epic EMR system; start date dependent on Epic experience level and training schedule requirements
• 24 hours of orientation provided; work alongside skilled cardiac care teams
• Opportunity to utilize advanced cardiac skills including chest tube management and dysrhythmia interpretation

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license or Compact license in hand at time of submission (required)
• BLS and ACLS certification (current)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required
• Strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown experience with proven competency managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias
• Cardiac surgery or cardiac catheterization lab experience strongly preferred
• Experience caring for cardiovascular stepdown patients and telemetry monitoring
• Epic charting system experience required; specific training class will be determined based on recent Epic usage
• Trauma Level II experience required;
  Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only);
  Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions only)
