Veterinary Assistant

Riverside Veterinary Clinic is looking to add a Skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Riverside Veterinary Clinic has been an established veterinary practice in Haverhill, MA for nearly 40 years. We provide comprehensive veterinary care that includes digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, and a full in‑house laboratory. We not only provide preventative medicine but also treat an variety of medical conditions in cats, dogs, and some exotics. Our talented and experienced doctors also perform dental procedures including extractions, as well as soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.

Schedule:

Riverside operates Monday‑Friday 8 a.m.–7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.–2 p.m. The work schedule will be three 11–12 hour weekday shifts. Two Saturdays in our five‑week rotation are also mandatory.

Salary: $20‑$25 commensurate with skill level

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
  • Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas, including stocking and cleaning
  • Be able to properly restrain patients.
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples as well as preparing them for the reference lab
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Management and nursing care of both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Place IV catheters
  • Administer medications
  • Surgical preparation and assistance.
  • Anesthetic management and monitoring.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2–3 years of prior experience in a veterinary hospital is preferred
