Quality Control / Manager, QA Specialist / Manager
We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to join our federal team based at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. This role reports to the Senior Project Manager and is responsible for managing on‑site quality control processes to ensure project work meets or exceeds contractual requirements and the customer’s standards.
Compensation and Benefits- Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 (negotiable based on experience)
- Benefits: eligible for benefits on first day of employment
- Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks total)
- Travel: not required, full time at the Pentagon
- Manage the Quality Control system, including coordination, peer review, and documentation of design submissions, inspections, final testing services, and close‑out activities.
- Work with customers to address and mitigate deficiencies and non‑conformance reports, generating and maintaining a deficiency log.
- Manage the three phases of the quality control process to ensure compliance with the performance work statement (PWS).
- Conduct and participate in the review of design, installation, and documentation to ensure design and customer requirements are met on corrective work orders.
- Control and distribute all quality documentation and monitor all quality‑related activities on the project.
- Coordinate all quality‑related correspondence with client representatives and communicate significant issues or developments, providing recommended process improvements.
- Resolve and manage client problems and conflicts related to the quality control process, maintaining open communication and providing regular written and oral reports.
- Generate reports on work performed and deficiencies, providing daily updates for review and submission to the customer.
- Participate in weekly progress meetings with the client and review meeting minutes.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to account teams, managing resolution of complex problems.
- Work closely with the designer of record (DOR) team onsite to supply all related quality‑control documents.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as required.
- 5+ years of Construction Quality Control (CQM) experience.
- Qualified to evaluate performance of the three phases of quality control in HVAC, Building Automation Systems, and MEP equipment and systems.
- Implemented, operated, and maintained a quality management system.
- Proven planning, problem‑solving, data analysis, blueprint/schematic reading, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with demonstrated leadership and decision‑making abilities.
- Proficiency in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification within 3 months of hire (active certification preferred).
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and or badges for supported projects (background check required).
- Experience working with commercial or industrial HVAC equipment and/or Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
- Knowledge of Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Control program standards.
- Experience supporting an occupied facility during renovation.
- Experience in operation and maintenance practices in the building services industry.
- Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification.
