AboutThe Role
We are seeking a highly responsible and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both test automation and manual testing, with a proven ability to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of complex software systems. This role involves a balanced approach to testing, combining automated frameworks with manual test execution to validate requirements and user stories effectively.
The QA Engineer will work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle to identify defects, promote best practices, and enhance overall product quality.
- Strong background in both test automation and manual testing
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks
- Proficiency in analyzing requirements and creating comprehensive test plans and cases
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or above
- Must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and be able to work on-site in Crystal City or Rosslyn, VA
- Experience testing .NET web applications integrated with Oracle databases
- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools
- Experience supporting secure or U.S. Government environments
- Collaborate with functional and development teams to identify, document, and execute test cases
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing
- Execute manual test cases for new features, edge cases, and scenarios where automation is impractical
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover usability, performance, and reliability issues
- Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to develop detailed test plans and cases
- Report, track, and verify defects using issue management systems
- Partner with developers and Dev Ops engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Provide clear test documentation, metrics, and quality reports to stakeholders
- Advocate for quality engineering practices and contribute to continuous process improvements
- Develop, implement, and maintain testing best practices to improve deliverable quality
- Ensure adherence to testing standards across all scrum teams
- Continuously evaluate and enhance testing methodologies to adapt to project and technological changes
- Manage the maintenance and enhancement of regression test suites to ensure ongoing product stability
- Competitive salary range of $117,000 - $135,000 annually, commensurate with experience and clearance level
- 401(k) retirement plan with dollar-for-dollar matching on the first 6% of contributions, including traditional and Roth options
- Discretionary profit-sharing contributions based on company performance
- Employee referral bonuses: $8,000 for TS/SCI-cleared hires, $5,000 for other successful referrals
