JOB TITLE:

Leasing Consultant

REPORTS TO:

Community Manager

SUPERVISES:

N/A

POSITION TYPE:

Full-Time, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Performs a variety of administrative tasks geared toward the goal of maximum occupancy by quality residents and performs other functions as assigned by the Community Manager. This position is considered an essential function to the operation of the Community, therefore, consistent attendance is an essential function of this position, as it directly impacts the employee’s ability to perform their duties effectively and ensures proper workflow and communication within the team.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Abides by Fair Housing Laws.
  • Provides tours of apartments to prospective residents.
  • Runs credit reports on prospective residents.
  • Prepares lease packets.
  • Inspects apartments prior to showing them.
  • Maintains logs of traffic through the property.
  • Leases units.
  • Provides information over the telephone to prospective residents.
  • Maintains a visible public relations’ attitude toward current and prospective residents.
OCCASIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Typing and filing property–related reports.
  • May be asked to assist with rent collection, bank deposits, or other general errands.
  • May be asked to assist with resident retention activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS /

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Some advanced real estate training, including familiarity with the Landlord-Tenant and Fair Housing laws, and prior experience in a leasing position;
    Preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License (if operating a vehicle)
PHYSICAL

ACTIVITIES:
  • Physical Activities up to and including, typing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, or sitting for periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

  • Hours worked will coincide with the hours of operation in the community. This position may be required to work on weekends as necessary.
