CHIEF OF EVALUATION SAMHSA: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING PROJECTSThe Chief of Evaluation has a strong research and evaluation background in the areas of substance use/prevention, behavioral health, and mental health to support the SAMHSA Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Project. The Chief of Evaluation will provide support in the areas of data collection, analysis, and performance measurement to ensure quality for all SAMHSA TTA provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES- Develop customer satisfaction survey forms/instruments that will best assess the effectiveness of the TA and/or training.
- Collaborate with data contractors on the collection, analyses, and reporting of service performance data.
- Determine if the data collected should be included in any of the official data collection platforms and provide the data in a format that can be used by that system.
- Coordinate with staff to establish the types of information (e.g., customer satisfaction survey forms/instruments) that will best assess the effectiveness of the TA and/or training.
- Identify and collect performance data on TA and/or training service provision.
- Develop and utilize data collection instruments and procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of TA and/or training efforts.
- Prepare event summary evaluations within five days after all events.
- Establish and maintain a continuous performance measurement component that assesses process, capacity, and impacts of TA and/or training services.
- Familiarity with the work of SMAHSA, substance use/prevention, behavioral health, and mental health.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Sustained concentration and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload and deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college in the field of psychology, social work, counseling, math, applied science or related field.
- 5 years' experience in research and evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience in research and evaluation in the field of psychology including mental health and substance use/prevention.
- Demonstrated ability to review, analyze, aggregate and present data gathered from multiple sources.
- Demonstrated skill and ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, to various audiences.
