Asset Protection Coordinator

Job Purpose and Summary

The Asset Protection Coordinator (APC) is responsible for improving the retail customer experience and mitigating losses due to external theft in assigned stores. The APC must demonstrate superior customer service skills and experience in loss prevention and operational strategies. The role reports to the District Asset Protection Leader and collaborates closely with store leadership and other Asset Protection teams.

• Provides attentive, friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering general questions, and assisting with opening and securing locked shelves and showcases as requested.
• Moves throughout the store to monitor assigned store(s) for activities that could result in loss of CVS Pharmacy assets/products. Communicates observations to Store Management and seeks guidance when theft is suspected; does not apprehend shoplifters.
• Inspects high‑risk product categories regularly to detect and deter theft activity.
• Ensures use of approved asset/product protection equipment and the security labeling program.
• Prepares external theft reports in the Auror system as incidents occur and monitors feeds to gather and share intelligence on known repeat offenders with key stakeholders.

• Physical ability to support the essential functions of the role, including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the store, and reaching or grasping objects on lower shelves. Must be able to apply security tags and use keys to open and close locks.
• Excellent observational skills with the ability to recall and describe detailed facts and to read small print on labels, tags, or containers.
• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to engage and communicate well with customers.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the preparation and submission of external theft reports.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends.

• Provide customer service to prevent theft and reduce friction caused by product protection by unlocking and securing devices as needed (60%).
• External theft reporting and proactive intelligence sharing with DAPL, the ORC Team, and Store Manager regarding potential habitual offenders (30%).
• Monitor store compliance with asset protection related programs, take corrective action as needed, and report findings to DAPL and Store Leadership (10%).

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

1 to 3 years of relevant experience required.

40 hours per week.

Full time.

$17.00 to $26.00 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
