This is a full‑time, on‑site Counter Manager role based at Nordstrom Pentagon City in Arlington, VA. The Counter Manager is responsible for leading daily counter operations, including supervising sales activities, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining La Prairie’s luxury standards in all interactions. Responsibilities include motivating and coaching the counter team, scheduling staff, monitoring performance, and providing in‑depth product consultations and demonstrations to clients.
The role also involves achieving sales targets, managing inventory and merchandising, coordinating promotional events, and ensuring visual displays reflect brand guidelines. The Counter Manager will collaborate closely with store management and La Prairie field teams to optimize business results and uphold a refined client experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients, team members, and store partners.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear, confident verbal communication and active listening in a luxury retail environment.
- In-depth product knowledge and willingness to become an expert in La Prairie skincare, treatments, and brand story.
- Proven customer service skills with a focus on personalized consultations, clienteling, and delivering a best‑in‑class experience.
- Experience in training, coaching, or mentoring retail teams to drive performance and uphold service standards.
- Previous experience in luxury beauty, skincare, or premium retail management is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals, manage inventory, and maintain high visual merchandising standards.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability in managing schedules, and flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays.
- High level of professionalism, polished presentation, and a genuine passion for luxury skincare and client care.
