Job Summary
Part‑time position responsible for processing, packaging, stocking seafood products per the Seafood Standards; cleaning work areas; providing customer service during unloading and reloading of stock; performing duties of meat clerk when assigned.
ResponsibilitiesProcessing, packaging, and stocking seafood products in accordance with Seafood Standards; cleaning work areas; unloading stock and reloading salvaged items; performing meat clerk duties as needed.
Personal SkillsExceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in training and work collaboratively to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsRead and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group settings to customers, vendors, and associates who speak only English.
Mathematical SkillsAdd and subtract two‑digit numbers and perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.
Reasoning AbilityApply commonsense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsComplete company training, including but not limited to new‑hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.
Physical DemandsRegularly stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Lift and/or move 50–100 pounds with reach from 6–72 inches. Vision: close vision, color, and depth perception.
Work EnvironmentCool environment with temperatures 34–36°F, exposed to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.

- Pay Transparency:
Harris Teeter expects to pay between $14.25/hour and $20.50/hour for a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on prior experience and skill set.
Eligible for Harris Teeter’s group benefit plans upon completion of applicable waiting periods. Eligibility is subject to the terms of the applicable plan and policy.
