Job Overview
As a Selling and Support Captain, you are an advocate for the customer and a role model for your colleagues. You will drive results through promotional and Omni selling initiatives, and play a key role in communicating expectations and priorities to colleagues. Advancement opportunities include Personal Stylist or Sales and Customer Experience Manager.

- Fulfill customer orders, merchandise, process new products, or supervise the selling floor.
- Lead colleagues in executing and completing assigned tasks.
- Advocate for the customer, role model, and provide rapid feedback to create outstanding experiences.
- Ensure high-level customer service through problem-solving and customer-focused resolutions.
- Enhance the in-store experience by promoting the Macy's mobile app.
- Meet with People Leaders to plan and monitor store activities.
- Provide continuous feedback to People Leaders that drives positive customer experience and improves processes.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including accessing the alarm system and settling registers.
- Lead and participate in adherence to best-in-class merchandise standards.
- Educate colleagues on point-of-sale technology, radio frequency equipment, and applications to assist in selling and order fulfillment.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and creates authentic connections.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays with regular attendance and punctuality.
- Proficient in communicating effectively with customers and providing clear direction to colleagues.
- Self-starter who adapts quickly to changing customer expectations and needs.
- Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
- 1-2 years of direct retail experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 50 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Reaching above eye level, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and color vision.
- Frequent use of computers and technology, including handheld equipment, cash registers, and processing transactions.
