About the Role

As a Cashier, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. Your role is critical in accurately processing transactions, handling cash and electronic payments, and maintaining the integrity of the cash register. You will contribute to a positive shopping environment by providing friendly and attentive customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.

Additionally, you will support store operations through janitorial duties and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to perform repetitive motions and lift heavy items are essential to meet the dynamic needs of the retail environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in cashiering or retail customer service.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Strong communication skills and phone etiquette.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations.
  • Familiarity with janitorial duties in a retail environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced retail setting.
Responsibilities
  • Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash drawer management and reconciliation.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
  • Perform janitorial duties such as cleaning checkout areas, restocking supplies, and maintaining overall store cleanliness.
  • Assist with lifting and carrying heavy items as needed to support store operations and inventory management.
  • Manage phone etiquette by answering calls courteously and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts to meet store operational needs.

The required skills such as cashiering and operating cash registers are essential for processing transactions quickly and accurately, ensuring customer satisfaction.
