Part Time Meat Clerk

Position Summary

This is a part‑time position as a Meat & Seafood Clerk. Responsibilities include processing, packaging, and stocking meat products in accordance with Meat Standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, reloading salvage, and performing duties of a seafood clerk when assigned.

• Process, package, and stock meat products according to Meat Standards.
• Clean and maintain work areas.
• Provide customer service, unload and reload stock.
• Assist with seafood clerical duties as required.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma, GED, or one to three months of related experience/training, or equivalent combination.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to complete required training.
• Ability to read simple instructions, communicate in English, and present information to customers.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction of two‑digit numbers, handling money and weight measurements).
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and handle simple problem solving.
• Complete company training in new‑hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, and product knowledge.

• Stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk and hear regularly; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds (6‑72 in. reach) and up to 100 pounds frequently.
• Close vision, color and depth perception required.

• Cool environment with temperatures around 34‑36 °F, wet/humid conditions.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals.
• Noise level usually moderate to loud.

Pay Transparency:
Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $14.25/hour and $20.50/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on prior experience and skill sets.

You will be eligible for Harris Teeter’s group benefit plans upon the completion of applicable waiting periods. Eligibility is subject to plan terms and Harris Teeter policy.
