Nordstrom Rack Team Member
OverviewAre you ready to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment? As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you’ll continuously move and collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. You’ll ensure a quick and easy customer experience, keep the store clean and clutter‑free, and may occasionally work in different areas of the store to maintain cleanliness and help customers find great deals.
Responsibilities- Work with the team to ensure the sales floor stays "runway ready" and is sized and filled through re‑merchandising and straightening throughout the day
- Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms (in‑store, online, and mobile), operating a point‑of‑sale system, bagging items of all sizes, handling bulky and sometimes heavy items, and ensuring a seamless and friendly experience
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor
- Keep the stock rooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program
- Receive, unload freight, unpack, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards
- Prepare and ship customer orders following quality, packing, and shipping standards
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with our inventory control processes
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stock rooms
- Provide general support to the store (e.g., set up special events, organize backroom, markdowns, and relocate store fixtures)
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Flexible schedule based on business needs
Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching. Handle merchandise and assist customers, including lifting bulky items. Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds. Stock and Fulfillment Only: Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Pay Range$18.65 – $19.40 hourly. Commission for most selling employees varies based on merchandise sold:
Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%. Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales receive 3% commission. Positions may also be eligible for performance‑based incentives/bonuses.
