Job Description
This role is responsible for managing digital client campaigns from contract to final reporting. This includes working closely with Media Solutions sales and other Client Management team members and internal stakeholders, such as Advertising Operations, to ensure client campaigns are successfully booked, delivered and optimized, thus fostering a best-in‑class client experience throughout.
The Account Manager is a fully‑client facing role, responsible for monitoring campaign delivery and making optimization recommendations, sharing regular reporting and campaign details with clients, answering client questions and collecting required client advertising assets to launch campaigns.
The Account Manager’s responsibilities go beyond basic campaign management, as the Account Manager is responsible for understanding POLITICO’s advertising specifications and digital advertising products so that they can navigate technical client asset/spec questions and also make upsell recommendations to Business Development partners when monitoring and finalizing a campaign’s performance.
The Account Manager is also responsible for building out orders within our Order Management System, so that they can issue and/or process client Insertion Orders.
What You’ll Do- Oversee, monitor and optimize the performance of ongoing campaigns to ensure proper execution and delivery
- Serve as the client and internal main POC for digital campaigns
- Develop and manage ongoing relationships with clients and agencies
- Share campaign reporting and analysis with clients
- Identify opportunities for upsell and work with Business Development to share those ideas
- Create and deliver media insertion orders
- Approve invoices and manage billing schedules with clients
- Assist in special projects as needed
- Strong communicator who can adapt their style based on the internal or external stakeholder
- Independent worker and strategic thinker, ready to navigate questions that don’t perfectly fit into the existing process
- Ready to manage a higher volume of quickly moving work and able to shift when priorities change
- Organized and detail‑oriented professional, always proactively thinking one step ahead and working to ensure accuracy in work
- Team player focused on building understanding and empathy for other teams internally
- Obsessed with digital advertising and how clients utilize messaging to reach core audiences to change outcomes, shift perceptions, etc.
- 1–2 years of experience in paid media and/or client management
- Willingness to work in Salesforce and order management systems
- Experience working in Excel and in client reporting
- Experience working with multiple teams to complete a project
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders
