Description

Do you have the business savvy and the technical background necessary to help establish Amazon as a key technology platform provider? Amazon Web Services is expanding in the U.S. Public Sector market, and the SLG team offers a creative, fast paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you’ll be at the center of Amazon innovation for students, administrators, researchers, and faculty.

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Sales Representative to work on the Washington DC account team. The ideal candidate has sales experience in this vertical with a terrific reputation for overachieving quota while focusing on the customer. They should also be a self‑starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan and consistently deliver on quarterly revenue targets.

The Enterprise Sales Representative will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO level as well as with software developers and IT architects. They will be an exceptionally strong and creative thinker who thrives in a team environment and embraces all aspects of selling, and will be able to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while maintaining very strong verbal and written communication skills.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory and industry vertical.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
  • Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan.
  • Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services.
  • Accelerate customer adoption.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Work with partners to extend reach and drive adoption.
  • Manage contract negotiations.
  • Develop long‑term strategic relationships with key accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Travel limited to moderate.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full sales cycle, technology sales or equivalent business development, sales engineering/consulting or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience developing and executing sales strategies, tactics, plans, processes, systems, and programs.
  • Experience generating new opportunities with a strong focus on pipeline tracking and deal execution through the entire sales cycle.
  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Professional level certification, or Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field.
  • Experience positioning and selling technology to new customers and new market segments.
  • Experience in problem solving and delivering results.
  • Experience navigating prospective accounts from and into a senior executive level to identify new customer opportunities.
  • Experience working with consulting partners through solution alignment, account management, product management, program management, and business development engagements.
  • Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent.
  • Experience with government procurement and contracting process.
Salary and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and sales incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
