Position Summary
The Field Sales Representative owns and delivers sales for their overall territory by developing relationships with store managers and other retail personnel to achieve directed short‑and long‑term performance objectives. The role focuses on delivering the overall value of retail (VOR), including sales, displays, new items and core distribution. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.
TerritoryThis role covers a Pasadena, CA territory. Candidates must live within 50 miles of Pasadena, CA.
Responsibilities- Sell incremental volume for display and obtain maximum support for promoted products.
- Sell promotional surveys for displays.
- Sell additional products based on opportunities observed.
- Collaborate with targeted store‑level/district‑level retail operations personnel to create and execute business reviews that drive volume.
- Lead expenditure of financial resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Ensure compliance to pricing guidelines at retail level.
- Report competitive price changes and promotional support and resolve competitive pricing issues.
- Identify and correct voids and ensure new items are available.
- Merchandise products to obtain schematic compliance, pack out shelves, rotate products, handle unsellable product and resolve systemic problems related to out‑of‑stocks and voids.
- Develop and maintain proper relations with department/store level personnel within the territory to maximize sales results.
- Communicate market insights from the retail level to management.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology or a related field preferred. - 2+ years of retail sales, merchandising or retail management experience of CPG products preferred, not required.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Excellent customer service, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication (oral and written), selling and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) and other POS systems.
- Ability to analyze financial, inventory, retail conditions and/or data to utilize appropriate selling techniques.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Travel: frequent overnight travel up to 40% of the time and additional business travel.
- Driving: regular long‑distance driving to visit client sites and attend meetings.
- Location:
candidates must reside within 50 miles of the largest cluster of stores in the assigned territory.
- Lifting/Carrying: up to 55 lbs.
- Pushing/Pulling/Bending: may be required to set up displays or move carts.
- Standing/Walking: extended periods common.
The approximate pay range for this position is 57K‑ 66K base plus annual bonus. Nestlé offers performance‑based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401(k) with company match and healthcare coverage.
