The Business Development Specialist is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, managing lead generation activities, and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline. Day‑to‑day tasks include conducting market research, prospecting target organizations, initiating outreach via email, phone, and social channels, and scheduling discovery meetings or demos for senior sales team members.
The specialist will collaborate closely with marketing to execute campaigns, follow up on inbound leads, and track performance metrics in CRM tools. The role also involves understanding AgencyIQ’s regulatory intelligence offerings, clearly communicating value propositions, and providing feedback from prospects to inform product and go‑to‑market strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and market research abilities to evaluate prospects, segments, and trends.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and confident presentation abilities.
- Proven lead generation and pipeline‑building experience, with comfort using CRM and sales engagement tools.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to build rapport, handle objections professionally, and maintain long‑term relationships.
- Familiarity or interest in regulatory, policy, or life sciences environments is a plus.
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented approach with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet or exceed activity and revenue targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, political science, public policy, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
