Sales Support Specialist — Growth Path to Account Manager

We're a growing interior design and furniture sales business. What started as a one‑person operation has expanded into a small, close‑knit team — a Project Manager and a Designer supporting our founder day to day. As the business has grown, our Project Manager has taken on more than any one person can carry, and we're ready to bring on someone dedicated to sales support who can eventually grow into a larger account management role.

About

the Role

This role exists to take work off our Project Manager's plate and give our founder a true right hand on the sales support side. You'll take ownership of incoming requests, coordinate with our designer, and manage projects through to completion — from order acknowledgement through to shipment. This is a back‑of‑house role more than a client‑facing one: your focus is accuracy, follow‑through, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

We're looking for someone who wants to grow. Over time, there's a clear path toward an Account Manager role, and we're open to structuring the position as roughly 60% sales support / 40% account management for the right person from the start.

What You'll Do
  • Own incoming sales support requests from intake through completion
  • Coordinate directly with our designer on project details and specifications
  • Manage projects with light project management oversight — following through the entire process, start to finish
  • Review purchase order acknowledgements closely for accuracy (pricing, specs, quantities, timing)
  • Track and confirm shipments, flagging discrepancies or delays proactively
  • Support our Project Manager, Courtney, by absorbing day-to-day order and detail management
  • Work independently with minimal oversight once processes are learned
What We're Looking For
  • ~5 years of relevant experience — open to junior/mid‑level candidates or those returning to the workforce (e.g., after time at home) who bring strong attention to detail
  • Sales support, order management, or account coordination experience
  • Furniture or interior design industry experience is a strong plus, especially for candidates interested in the Account Manager track
  • Self‑starter who works well independently and doesn't need heavy hand‑holding
  • Highly detail‑oriented, especially when reviewing order acknowledgements for accuracy
  • Comfortable owning a project end‑to‑end rather than handing pieces off
Growth Opportunity

This role is designed to grow. As you build product and process knowledge, there's a defined path into an Account Manager position, with the option to move toward a 60/40 or more client‑facing split over time based on interest and performance.
