Youwill join our Environment and Health department
Ramboll is seeking an energetic, highly‑motivated, collaborative, and resourceful staff scientist to join the firm in any of the offices listed. This position will work with all levels of expertise from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their fields. Consultants are part of a continual learning environment where they learn through coaching, mentoring, and on‑the‑job tasks.
Yourkey tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Planning ecological assessments and monitoring studies
- Collecting field data or overseeing data collection
- Conducting wetland delineation, forest stand delineation, and identification of jurisdictional resources
- Statistically analyzing data
- Producing figures and tables for reports
- Preparing permit applications, supporting documents, reports and communicating results to clients
- Publishing and presenting findings to peers and stakeholders
- Actively participating in a growing network of Ramboll sustainability practitioners that span our services across environment/health, energy, and water.
- B.S. or M.S. in a discipline relevant to ecology and biodiversity such as terrestrial ecology, marine ecology, restoration, forestry, wildlife ecology, environmental science, toxicology, chemistry, statistics, climate change, or landscape science
- At least 1 year of ecological or related experience (work done as a graduate student can count toward this requirement; work done outside of the discipline does not count toward this requirement)
- Strong computing skills including high level use of spreadsheets and word processing
- Proactive and advanced critical thinking skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organization skills
- Wetland delineation and/or botany experience is a strong advantage
- Implementation of field studies
- Willingness to travel locally/regionally
