Surveillance Security Officer

Garda World Security Services is hiring a Surveillance Security Officer. This role requires a sharp eye and attention to detail while monitoring multiple screens to detect potential threats and prevent incidents.

• Site Location and Type:
  Arlington, VA – Multi‑Story High Profile Building
• Scheduling will be based on site needs. Candidates must be able to walk and stand for 8+ hours, work weekends, overnights, and other shifts. Holidays may be required, and days on/off will vary. Full‑time hours are not guaranteed.
• Competitive hourly wage starting at $21.75 per hour (Daily Pay available for Garda World employees).

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of site‑specific post orders, corporate policies, and security protocols through proactive reviews.
• Navigate and utilize complex security operations systems, including digital ticketing, email boxes, corporate messenger chats, and electronic incident reporting software.
• Author detailed, accurate, and legally robust incident reports immediately following security anomalies, medical emergencies, or facility breaches.
• Manage high‑volume access control and alarm monitoring systems, verify visitor identification, issue and print corporate badges, and enforce building entry protocols to prevent tailgating.
• Conduct active CCTV monitoring and execute precise protocols upon receiving system alarms or security alerts.
• Memorize and maintain response protocols for all system alerts, fire alarms, duress alarms, and emergency evacuation steps.
• Maintain seamless, professional radio and walkie‑talkie communication, adhering to codes and etiquette.
• Collaborate directly with property management to streamline parking requests, coordinate facility logistics, and manage authorized access for tenants and guests.
• Execute crowd control and monitoring during high‑profile corporate events to ensure safety and orderly foot traffic.
• Maintain unwavering situational awareness and physical oversight of all facility entrances, exits, and perimeters while upholding uniform etiquette.
• Successfully cross‑train across all security posts and desk roles, demonstrating operational agility to pivot between duties as needed.

• High school education or equivalent (GED).
• Successful completion of an extensive screening process.
• At least 2 years of Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience.
• Active Virginia DCJS security license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft or Google applications, security systems, and Incident/DAR reports.
