Responsibilities
The CWMD SME will support AF/A10S in the development and implementation of strategy, doctrine, policy, guidance, programs, projects, operational research, analysis, and testing related to the AF CWMD Range of Mission Sets, including Non‑Proliferation, Counter‑Proliferation (strike, interdiction, intercept, offensive & defensive counter‑air/space, ATSO, air operations, CBRN defense, and consequence management). This onsite position at the Pentagon is part of a proposal effort and is contingent upon contract award.
- Providing inputs to assist AF/A10S in developing policy and doctrine for AF operations in a CBRN environment and in the execution of National or DoD programs such as CBRN Survivability.
- Performing analysis of items of interest by the MAJCOMS, Air Staff/Space Staff, Services, JS, OSD, DoD, CCDRs, and other Federal Agencies to assist in determining its value to the DAF for operational use.
- Maintaining familiarity with general categories of analytic quantitative assessment, including:
- Threat and Vulnerability Assessments
- Basic Challenge Sources
- Attack Characterization
- Atmospheric Transport Dispersion Modeling
- Chem‑Bio Defense (CBD) Equipment Operations
- AF Operations, Risk Assessment/Management
- Hazard Modeling and Analysis
- Detector Capability Analysis
- Decontamination Requirements Analysis, Technical Design, and Conduct of Laboratory and Field Testing
- Support for development and implementation of the CBRN CONOPS and other supporting efforts
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience. Consideration will also be given to an Associate’s degree with 11 years of experience or a High School diploma with 14 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Desired Qualifications- Experience operating current sortie generation M&S products.
- Proficiency in using and interpreting M&S tools.
- In‑depth knowledge of AF and DoD CWMD and Counter‑Proliferation programs.
- Experience working in complex environments with multiple points of contact.
- Ability to analyze and interpret CBRN studies for operational impacts on air and/or space operations/missions.
- Technical expertise in CBRN science and understanding of the CBRN hazard environment.
- AF‑unique operational experience/expertise in the following mission areas:
- Fighter/mobility operations
- Flight line agile combat support
- Joint operations/air operations planning
- AF CBRN Defense
- Counter‑proliferation and non‑proliferation
- Scientific analysis and testing of air platforms
- Adversary use of/potential methods of employment regarding chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons
- CBRN effects on people, equipment and operations
- AF CBRN countermeasure processes
- Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
