Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist

Position Overview

This position is located in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Security Infrastructure Directorate, Office of Personnel Security and Suitability (DS/SI/PSS), Adverse Actions Branch 2. The Adverse Actions Division conducts adjudicative determinations on the most complex or serious security issues that may result in a denial, revocation, or suspension of a security clearance for the Department's Presidential appointees, Foreign/Civil Service, Wage Grade applicants, and contractors.

Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.

• Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5
  
  CFR 300, Subpart
  
  F.

• Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
• Experience leading projects to adjudicate security clearance access eligibility and suitability for employment.
• Experience advising on the development of policy or program decisions related to personnel security.
• Experience conducting adjudicative assessments involving cases exhibiting security or suitability concerns and issues.
