Position SummaryThe Person nel Security Specialist (PSS) is responsible for executing and administering personnel security operations supporting DISA, Department of Defense (DoD), and associated mission partners under Contract HC101324P0002 and all related modifications. The PSS serves as a subject matter expert for personnel security, suitability, vetting, trust determinations, clearance processing, continuous vetting, insider threat coordination, adverse information reporting, and regulatory compliance.
The PSS ensures compliance with DoD, DISA, Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and Intelligence Community (IC) personnel security requirements. This position supports government security officials by processing, tracking, adjudicating, documenting, auditing, and reporting personnel security actions while protecting classified information and safeguarding government resources.
The specialist works closely with Program Managers, Facility Security Officers (FSOs), Contract Security Managers (CSMs), Government Security Managers (GSMs), Human Resources personnel, CORs, Security Officers, and federal stakeholders to ensure personnel meet all eligibility and access requirements throughout the employment lifecycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Personnel Security Administration- Process, monitor, and maintain personnel security actions for contractor and government personnel.
- Initiate, track, and maintain personnel security investigations through approved government systems.
- Verify clearance eligibility, access authorizations, and investigation status.
- Review personnel security documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Support onboarding, transfer, separation, and clearance crossover activities.
- Maintain personnel security records in accordance with federal record retention requirements.
- Monitor reinvestigation, periodic review, and continuous vetting requirements.
- Manage personnel security processes associated with:
- Secret clearances
- Top Secret clearances
- TS/SCI eligibility
- SCI nominations
- Special access requirements
- Public Trust determinations
- Sensitive Position Designations
- Coordinate clearance actions with DCSA, DISA Security Offices, and Government Security Managers.
- Validate eligibility and access prior to granting system, facility, or program access.
- Support clearance reciprocity determinations and transfer actions.
- Conduct security screening reviews and pre-employment eligibility checks.
- Analyze investigation data for completeness and potential issues requiring government review.
- Prepare security documentation supporting suitability and trust determinations.
- Coordinate resolution of incomplete investigative requirements.
- Assist government adjudicators by compiling required supporting documentation.
- Monitor personnel security alerts and continuous vetting notifications.
- Coordinate reviews of reportable information and security-related incidents.
- Support insider threat awareness and reporting programs.
- Maintain documentation associated with continuous evaluation activities.
- Ensure timely reporting of adverse information in accordance with DoD and DISA requirements.
- Verify personnel eligibility for facility and system access.
- Coordinate classified visit requests and access verification.
- Support SCI billet management and access roster maintenance.
- Maintain access authorization records and accountability documentation.
- Support visitor control procedures for classified facilities as required.
- Support personnel security inspections, audits, and assessments.
- Conduct internal compliance reviews of personnel security processes.
- Develop corrective actions addressing identified findings and observations.
- Prepare audit documentation and management reports.
- Respond to government data calls and status requests.
