Candidates must be based in Virginia or they will NOT be considered for the position.
Job DescriptionThe Field Generator Technician will install, repair, and perform routine and preventative maintenance on backup power systems for telecommunications, local businesses, and emergency service personnel.
SalarySalary is $25-$35 per hour based on experience. Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Salary Levels:
- Level 1: 25 - 27 USD per hour
- Level 2: 28 - 30 USD per hour
- Level 3: 31 - 35 USD per hour
- Level 4: 35 - 40 USD per hour
- Sign-On Bonus (based on experience and level)

Job Responsibilities
- Perform generator repairs on commercial generators and preventative maintenance.
- Conduct generator troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Maintain knowledge of updated changes in various models of equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend required repairs.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum age 25 years.
- GED or equivalent high school diploma.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Mechanical background; generator mechanics a plus.
- Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Computer literate, preferably in a Windows environment (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook).
- Dependable, able to work independently.
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds and bend/twist several times a day.
- Willing to work flexible hours, days, travel, and stay overnight.
- Maintain a professional appearance, promote a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
- Possess troubleshooting skills and effectively operate basic shop equipment.
- DOT Medical Card required.
- Knowledge of the position and its impact on overall business objectives.
- Compliance with company policies, procedures, and goals while protecting company assets.
- Drive safety and adherence to work standards.
