Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking an RF Test/System Technician II to support the Department of State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security. The technician is responsible for the installation and lifecycle maintenance of RF systems at diplomatic facilities for the Offices of Security Technology (ST) and Technology Innovation and Engineering (TIE). This role ensures RF systems are properly built, configured, validated, and maintained to support secure operations worldwide.
The position also requires strong capability in data lifecycle management to meet operational and maintenance needs across global deployments.
- Install and support lifecycle maintenance of RF systems at Department of State facilities for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (ST and TIE offices).
- Build, configure, and integrate RF systems to meet deployment requirements.
- Test RF equipment to ensure full functionality and verify proper operation prior to overseas deployment.
- Conduct post‑installation tests to confirm systems are operating correctly after setup.
- Provide on‑site training for Security Engineering Officers (SEOs) and Regional Security Officers (RSOs).
- Order materials, components, and equipment required for system builds and installations.
- Perform software testing to ensure system functionality and compatibility.
- Conduct surveys at existing facilities to support planning for new RF system installations.
- Manage data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, organization, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition.
- Provide data and system insights to support ongoing maintenance and operational requirements.
- Current U.S. Government final Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required security clearance and access approvals.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or an IT‑related field preferred. - Minimum of three years as an electrician or installer of technical security equipment.
- Prior experience with RF/wireless testing and installation preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Visio preferred.
- Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, manage, analyze, report, and securely dispose of data.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as a team leader or team member.
- Capability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Normal office environment.
- Requires 25–50% travel within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS) for program coordination.
- Must travel OCONUS to conduct system installation, training, or maintenance at diplomatic facilities.
- OCONUS travel may include assignments in critical threat or austere environments worldwide.
- Domestic travel may be required for training sessions and program coordination activities.
