The Content Platform team is looking for a Software Development Engineer who will act as first‑level support and development for all incoming production software application issues related to merchandising applications. This role will develop monitoring solutions, troubleshoot/debug code, perform SQL queries, improve metrics systems, update and track technical challenges, and collaborate with Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects. Your solutions will directly impact our customers.
Responsibilities- Develop monitoring solutions
- Troubleshoot/debug and fix internally developed code (Perl, C/C++, Java)
- Perform SQL queries
- Improve systems that gather metrics on our features
- Update, track, and resolve technical challenges
- Work alongside development on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects
- Update and enhance our current software
- Automate support processes
- Document our systems
- Detail‑oriented with superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure
- Preferred coding skills:
Perl, C/C++, Java - Other desired technical skills:
Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, HTML, UNIX/LINUX - Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and 2‑5 years of relevant experience
