Job Description

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

About the Role

• We are seeking a Mid-level Software Developer/Engineer with expertise in Python, SQL, and Azure services.
• The role involves working in a regulated environment, specifically with the Benchling LIMS solution.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Benchling's architecture and functionality and will be responsible for developing and enhancing various modules and workflows within the system.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions using Python as the primary language.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs to sync Benchling with external instruments or data warehouses.
• Understand and work with complex relational schemas for data modelling and SQL tasks.
• Implement and manage audit trails, ensuring automated, time-stamped logs of user actions.
• Write and execute validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) to ensure software meets its intended use.
• Configure and customise Benchling LIMS modules such as Core Platforms, Dev Platforms, Insights Dashboards, Inventory, Notebook, Registry, Schemas, and Workflows.
• Enhance existing workflows, dashboards, inventory, schemas, projects, teams, and report templates.
• Manage access, security, and permissions within the Benchling environment.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python, particularly for Benchling SDK and laboratory automation scripts.
• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of data modeling and SQL, with the ability to work with complex relational schemas.
• Knowledge of audit trails and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  
  - Recent experience in a regulated development environment, specifically with Benchling LIMS.
• Deep knowledge of Benchling LIMS configuration, customization, and enhancement.
• Good understanding of Benchling modules and their functionalities.
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
