Description

Do you enjoy mission‑driven development, building awesome software, and integrating across a wide variety of services? In this role you will design architectural approaches and automate, enhance, and build new functionality for a complete separated end‑user work spaces environment as part of Amazon Web Services’ Controlled Working Environment (CWE) team, which is responsible for building, operating and maintaining a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) approved infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Investigate new ways to improve operations.
- Define and develop solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for customers.
- Investigate system variances that could affect customer applications before an outage occurs.
- Dive deep into new service announcements to identify unique implementation opportunities that improve the effectiveness of the CWE.
- Manage user applications such as JIRA, Confluence, Bit Bucket, Duo, etc.
- Study and learn from industry‑recognized Amazon distinguished engineers.
- Perform programming in at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby.
- Apply systems and network administration or systems reliability engineering practices.
- Engage with systems engineering, network, and application security tasks.
- Utilize web protocols, Linux/Unix tools, and architecture to build automated tools.
- 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 1+ year of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands‑on systems engineering.
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby.
- Experience with Power Shell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
Due to federal contracts, the selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
