Description
Amazon's world‑class technical team at HQ2 in Arlington, VA offers a chance to develop your skills and advance your career at one of the most innovative technology companies.
Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX) Pyxis ADC provides the foundational services that every Amazon builder depends on, from continuous deployment orchestration to testing infrastructure and configuration management. Our team owns and operates critical ASBX services across Amazon’s most secure and isolated environments—including Apollo, Pipelines, Test on Demand/Hydra, App Config, Multi‑Region, Builder MCP, and AIM.
A successful engineer will do much more than write code and triage problems. They will operate services at scale in air‑gapped environments where standard commercial tooling does not exist, drive cross‑partition deployment parity, and build the automation that keeps Amazon’s most sensitive workloads shipping safely. They will dive deep into complex distributed systems issues and work diligently to improve the builder experience.
This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance, and the selected candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or equivalent after the start date.
The Ideal Candidate Will- Be great fun to work with, bringing enthusiasm and a positive attitude to the team.
- Have strong Linux and networking fundamentals, with deep experience in large‑scale, distributed environments.
- Love to code, building deployment automation, AI‑powered tooling, or solving complex cross‑partition orchestration problems, and have a solid understanding of software development methodology and CI/CD practices.
- Think big, building solutions that enable thousands of Amazon builders to ship software reliably across multiple isolated regions.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers and the underlying hardware, networking, and power equipment. The team consists of software, hardware, network engineers, supply‑chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers who collaborate across AWS to deliver high safety standards and infinite capacity for customers.
A Day in the LifeYou start the morning reviewing deployment health across isolated regions, checking alarms and on‑call handoffs. Mid‑morning, you review a cross‑partition automation fix and join a design discussion to bring a new ASBX service capability to air‑gapped environments. After lunch you troubleshoot a deployment pipeline issue, trace it from orchestration logs to a configuration mismatch, and ship the fix before end of day.
The role’s depth and autonomy ensure that no two days look the same.
