Skillbridge Internship – Software Engineer (ALL LEVELS)

Location: Arlington, VA (Ballston area)

In‑Office Expectations: Internship will be in office 3–4 days per week, may fluctuate.

Security Clearance: Must be willing to obtain TS/SCI CI Poly;
Secret or higher considered.

Black Cape is seeking technologists actively using software development skills and/or with a computer science background. The program bridges military training to civilian technical work. Candidates should have at least 3–6 months of technical experience (military or civilian).

Preferred:
Completed Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Information Systems, or a similar technical discipline. An Associate’s degree is also considered.

Candidates close to completing a BS or a coding bootcamp are also considered.

• 2+ years of professional experience (most opportunities)
• Proficiency in at least one object‑oriented language (Java, Python, C#, or C++)
• Experience with at least one MVC framework (Spring, Django, Flask, Rails)
• Experience with at least one relational database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, sqlite3)
• Experience working with Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS)
• Working knowledge of web application fundamentals (HTTP, HTML, REST, CSS, JavaScript)

• Proficiency in a scripting language (Python, Perl)
• Familiarity with web server configuration (NGINX, Apache)
• Familiarity with a JavaScript framework (Backbone, Angular, Ember, Vue.js)
