Job Overview
Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX) Pyxis ADC delivers the foundational services that every Amazon builder relies on to develop, deploy, and operate software—from continuous deployment orchestration to testing infrastructure and configuration management. The team owns and operates critical ASBX services across Amazon’s most secure and isolated environments, including Apollo (deployment), Pipelines (continuous delivery), Test on Demand/Hydra (integration testing), App Config (feature management), Multi‑Region (resource replication), Builder MCP, and AIM (AI agent infrastructure).
Services are maintained for parity, reliability, and security across all partitions.
- Operate services at scale in air‑gapped environments where standard commercial tooling is unavailable.
- Drive cross‑partition deployment parity and build automation that keeps Amazon’s most sensitive workloads shipping safely.
- Dive deep into complex distributed systems issues and improve the builder experience.
- Write code and triage problems, including development of deployment automation, AI‑powered operational tooling, and cross‑partition orchestration solutions.
- Participate in design discussions and code reviews to bring new ASBX service capabilities to air‑gapped environments.
- Investigate and resolve deployment pipeline issues, trace logs, and configuration mismatches.
- 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 1+ year of designing or architecting new and existing systems for reliability and scaling.
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands‑on systems engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby.
- Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility (or higher).
- Experience with Power Shell, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
The selected candidate must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. After start, the candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or equivalent for each government agency for which AWS work is performed.
