The Amazon Web Services EC2 team located in Herndon, VA is actively recruiting for experienced Senior Software Engineers interested in working on two new projects announced at re:
Invent:
Outpost and Wavelength. Outpost brings native AWS services, infrastructure, and operation models to virtually any data center, co-location space, or on-premises facility. Wavelength brings AWS services to the edge of the 5G network, minimizing the latency to connect to an application from a mobile device. These are exciting, challenging new products that have the potential to redefine the industry.
- Own system architecture and development for product initiatives and feature development.
- Learn and develop global web services at scale.
- Work with diverse teams throughout Amazon to deliver compute at the edge.

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
