Position Summary
Responsible for the safe operation of Part 91 flights through compliance with all the appropriate PSA manuals, handbooks, and documents for PSA pilots. Maintenance Technical Pilots (MTPs) will use excellent communication and teamwork, along with their knowledge of company operations and manuals to further improve PSA policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates with other crew members to ensure a safe and reliable flight operation.
- Complies with all applicable FARs, TSA, DOT regulations, company procedures and policies.
- Complies with all administrative programs including airport/route qualification, flight time limitations, currency requirements (physicals, takeoffs and landings, home study courses, etc.), pilot flight equipment, uniform discipline, manuals, policies and procedures, and others, as assigned.
- Ensures pilot appearance, attendance, and personal conduct are in compliance with Company policy, including the Part 91 Policy and Procedures Handbook, culture, and core values.
- Responsible for and has full authority for for all crew members and the safe and efficient conduct of the flight. Such authority commences at the time the crew members report for duty, continues while enroute, at intermediate departure points, and until the crew members have gone off duty to receive a rest period.
- Submits reports on irregularities or incidents, as required.
- Takes an active role in promoting positive attitudes towards culture, core values, compliance, and safety.
- Complies with all administrative programs including airport/route qualification, flight time limitations, currency requirements (physicals, takeoffs and landings, home study courses, etc.), pilot flight equipment, uniform discipline, manuals, policies and procedures, and others, as assigned.
- Immediately notifies the Assistant Director of Flight Technical of any discrepancy or incident that may affect his/her ability, or Company ability, to perform within the parameters of safety, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
- Conducts a visual preflight and post-flight (walk-around) inspection prior to each flight.
- Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to maintain and display a working knowledge of FAA requirements as well as Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Previous PSA Captain with 121-line experience.
- Currently have or ability to obtain an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Currently have or ability to obtain a First-Class Medical.
- Currently have or ability to obtain a valid US or Foreign Passport with applicable VISAs prior to training.
- Ability to speak/read/write in English.
- If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Assistant Director of Flight Operations Technical.
