CNC Programmer

This role offers an opportunity for a highly experienced CNC Programmer to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment. You will independently program, troubleshoot, optimize, and support CNC production with minimal supervision, playing a key role in delivering complex components for demanding applications.

Responsibilities
  • Program complex components using Mastercam to support precision machining operations.
  • Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability.
  • Prove out CNC programs on the shop floor and validate that they meet engineering and quality requirements.
  • Support 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining operations from initial concept through production.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixturing, feeds, and speeds to achieve optimal performance and tool life.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T requirements to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Reduce cycle times and improve manufacturing efficiency through process optimization.
  • Create detailed setup sheets and process documentation to standardize operations and support repeatability.
  • Support production from initial programming through first article approval, ensuring a smooth transition to full production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within programming and machining processes.
  • Collaborate with machinists and other team members to resolve issues and enhance overall shop performance.
  • Mentor and guide junior programmers and machinists in CNC programming best practices and machine operation.
Essential Skills
  • Extensive experience as a CNC programmer in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in programming complex components using Mastercam (required).
  • Hands-on experience supporting 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, edit, optimize, and prove out CNC programs independently.
  • Ability to select tooling, fixturing, feeds, and speeds appropriate for various materials and operations.
  • Proven skill in troubleshooting machining, tooling, and production issues on the shop floor.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T requirements accurately.
  • Solid understanding of CNC mills and practical knowledge of G-code and machine controls.
  • Experience in reducing cycle times and improving manufacturing efficiency through process improvements.
  • Ability to create clear and detailed setup sheets and process documentation.
  • Capability to support production from programming through first article approval with minimal supervision.

  • Experience working with CNC mills in a production environment.
  • Working knowledge of G-code and various CNC machine controls.
  • Experience with process improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to mentor machinists and junior programmers and support their technical development.

You will use Mastercam and CNC machine controls as core technologies, and you will support 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
