A well-established steel manufacturing and fabrication facility in Arlington is seeking a Material Handler & Overhead Crane Operator to support day-to-day production flow and material movement across a busy shop environment. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial setting and has hands-on experience with overhead crane systems and material staging.
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity offering consistent hours, scheduled overtime, and the chance to be part of a production team that plays a critical role in large-scale steel processing and fabrication. You'll work in a heavy industrial environment where safety, precision, and teamwork are essential to keeping operations running smoothly.
Material Handler & Overhead Crane Operator
Job Duties:
- Material handling capabilities in utilizing an overhead crane (and some forklift), to "fly" material from work station to work station, and to evacuate areas and restage areas for processing and fabrication
- Move, stage, and organize steel materials throughout production areas to support workflow efficiency
- Safely operate overhead crane equipment to transport heavy and oversized materials
- Assist with loading/unloading and positioning materials for fabrication and processing operations
- Maintain clear, organized staging zones to support production readiness and safety standards
Schedules Available:
Day Shift: Monday–Friday 6:00am–2:30pm; OT is required every other Saturday 6:00am–2:30pm Swing Shift: Monday–Thursday 2:30pm–1:00am; OT is required every other Friday 2:30pm–1:00am
Pay: $22.00–$26.00 per hour
Material Handler & Overhead Crane Operator Requirements:
- Prior overhead crane operation experience required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Background in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial work preferred
- Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs as needed
- Strong focus on safety, communication, and attention to detail
