Description
The Harman Eye Clinic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care in our ambulatory surgery center. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, enjoys working with the senior community, and is excited to grow in a specialized surgical setting. Harman Eye provides hands‑on, on‑the‑job training with exposure to a wide range of ophthalmic cases, working alongside experienced surgeons, physicians, and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities- Perform preoperative and postoperative patient calls
- Admit and discharge patients
- Assess, document, and monitor patient conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Circulate intraoperatively as needed
- Monitor vital signs and assist with diagnostic testing
- Educate patients and families on procedures and post‑operative care
- Maintain accurate medical records and comply with regulatory standards
- Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance policies (HIPAA, OSHA, WISHA)
- Maintain knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and OR setup
- Complete the required continuing education
- Medication administration (oral, IV, IM, SQ, ophthalmic)
- IV insertion and removal
- Aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance
- Patient positioning and discharge
- Blood glucose and INR testing
- Laser safety and equipment operation
- Surgical time‑out protocol
- Current BLS/AED certification is required.
- One (1) year of operating room or ambulatory surgery center experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques applicable to the OR and surgical procedures.
- Familiarity with ophthalmic procedures and patient positioning.
- Understanding of proper handling of surgical instruments, tissue specimens, cultures, and smears.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Initiative and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Holds a current license from the State Board of Nursing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Pay: $29–$37 per hour
