Overview

The Quality Engineer ensures all customer and industry requirements are properly met and followed so products meet contractual standards. This role provides guidance and training to other quality team members and supports overall quality processes. The position may involve working directly with customers and suppliers, requiring professional communication and conduct at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain knowledge of customer and industry quality standards (including AS9100/AS9102).
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and prepare audit reports.
  • Apply purchase order quality requirements within the MRP system.
  • Maintain the Approved Supplier List.
  • Review and approve manufacturing plans and engineering documentation to ensure customer specification compliance.
  • Review and approve change requests and contract review records as needed.
  • Prepare First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 standards.
  • Provide technical input on internal disposition of nonconforming products.
  • Submit nonconforming material to customers when required.
  • Analyze rejection trends and report data to management.
  • Initiate and manage corrective actions, respond to quality issues or complaints, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Present quality-related information to internal teams.
  • Communicate with customers and their representatives as needed.
  • Support manufacturing and inspection teams with quality guidance, including interpretation of specifications and procedures.
  • Collaborate with departments on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of Quality Assurance or Inspection experience in the aerospace industry, or 5 years of QA experience with a degree in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard email systems.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Documented experience conducting internal audits.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and corrective action tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
  • Basic working knowledge of ERP/business systems and CAD environments (such as CATIA or ENOVIA).
  • Hands-on inspection experience with aircraft structural components.

Engineering degree or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification preferred.

Salary Offering: $34.00 per hour to $44.00 per hour

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
