Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
This permanent, full-time position is located in Arlington, WA.
Amazon’s Maintenance at Amazon (Reliability Maintenance & Engineering) focuses on the continuous improvement and maintenance of Robotics and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to support high‑speed operations worldwide.
About the RoleAs a Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice (MRA), you will learn to combine electronic, mechanical, computer, and control skills in a real‑world environment. During on‑the‑job learning (OJL), you will work with complex high‑performance manufacturing systems, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair systems to maintain process efficiency and ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
You will be paired with experienced workers at highly automated facilities, working in compliance with safety regulations, technical documents, and operational instructions. You are expected to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, coordinate with partner operations, and be self‑motivated.
Program Requirements- Flexible to relocate after completion of the program.
- Able to enroll in and attend a 9‑week training at one of five designated training providers (location assigned post‑interview).
- Meet the minimum qualifying score on a Mechanical Aptitude Test.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance of conveyance equipment using job plans, procedures, and manuals.
- Conduct maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells.
- Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical problems related to all material‑handling equipment components.
- Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo‑eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, etc.
- Do physical tasks including moving up to 49 lbs, standing and walking during shifts up to 12 hours, climbing ladders and gangways, and performing bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching below the waist and above the head.
- Associate of Science degree or 4 + years of military experience.
- High School Diploma.
- One year of PC software experience (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing operational items.
- Solid understanding of mathematics.
- Experience measuring reading and interpretation.
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE).
- Experience implementing safety standards.
- Experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.

Hourly rate: 28.00 – 30.00 USD (starting)
