Key Responsibilities- Safety and Vehicle Compliance:
Maintaining a safe driving record and appropriate licensing, strict adherence to company safety policies including the use of personal protective equipment, and actively identifying workplace hazards. Performing required pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and Department of Transportation regulations. - Delivery and Logistics:
Loading and unloading service trucks, performing timely scheduled and non‑route deliveries to meet customer satisfaction, and ensuring all necessary load documents are accurate and available. - Administrative Tasks:
Promptly and accurately maintaining all required company and DOT records, identifying potential cylinder problems, pulling orders from the warehouse, and collecting and submitting all customer payments. - General Duties:
Providing support to internal and external customers regarding inventory and delivery needs, and being available for occasional mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays for on‑call duty.
A day in the life of Airgas driver:
Required Qualifications- Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements
- Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months
- Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements
- No more than two (2) traffic convictions or two (2) at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years, or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at‑fault accident in the last 3 years
- No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
- Must be able to work in a drug‑free environment
- Be able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
- Forklift experience
