The MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Board of Public Works (BPW) Coordinator (Administrator I) within the Office of Procurement and Materials Management (OPAMM) at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).

The Board of Public Works (BPW) Coordinator (Administrator I) This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director of the Office of Procurement and Materials Management. In this role, they serve as the primary liaison and coordinator for all regulatory and compliance reporting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinating and managing the end-to-end development of Maryland Board of Public Works (BPW) agenda items. This includes preparing, reviewing, editing, and formatting detailed information for all Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) contracts requiring Board of public Works (BPW) approval or reporting.
  • Responsible for requesting, verifying, and approving legally sufficient contract documentation. This includes managing payment and performance bonds, processing tax verifications and contract affidavits, and ensuring strict compliance with Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation forms and affidavits.
  • Responsible for developing and compiling comprehensive presentation packages regarding current MAA agenda items for the BPW Review group and upcoming BPW meetings.
  • Preparing and delivering high-level briefings for the Director of OPAMM and MAA Executive Leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Preparing reports regarding contracts that were approved by the BPW when requested by MAA Executive team or MDOT.
  • Responding to inquiries from contractors, vendors, suppliers, and other interested parties regarding projects, contract documents, schedules and procurement procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work
* Must possess one year of experience managing the end-to-end development of Maryland Board of Public Works agenda items, including preparing, reviewing, editing, and formatting contract documentation for BPW approval or reporting.

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher-ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
