Mitigation Estimator – In Office

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: $55,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience

SERVPRO is looking for an experienced Mitigation Estimator to join our team in a full-time, in-office position.

This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role within our mitigation department. You will work closely with Project Managers, Crew Chiefs, technicians, and office staff to turn completed water, fire, mold, and other mitigation work into accurate Xactimate estimates and billing packages.

This is not a position where you simply receive a perfect file and write an estimate. You must be comfortable communicating with field personnel, asking questions, identifying missing information, and following up to get what you need to complete an accurate estimate.

The right person is organized, assertive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple active files while communicating constantly with a busy restoration team.

Responsibilities
  • Write accurate and complete mitigation estimates in Xactimate
  • Review job files, photos, drying documentation, equipment usage, labor, demolition, measurements, and work performed
  • Work directly with Project Managers, Crew Chiefs, and technicians to understand what occurred on the job
  • Ask questions and actively obtain missing information needed to complete estimates
  • Clearly communicate documentation deficiencies back to the appropriate team member
  • Follow up on missing information so files continue moving rather than sitting incomplete
  • Make sure all legitimate completed work is captured in the estimate
  • Review quantities, equipment charges, labor, materials, and mitigation line items for accuracy
  • Handle multiple job files and priorities in a fast-paced restoration environment
  • Prepare estimates and supporting documentation for insurance carriers, TPAs, homeowners, and other payers
  • Finalize and send invoices and billing packages
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, invoices, and submissions
  • Work with Project Managers to resolve estimating, scope, and documentation questions
  • Help identify recurring documentation problems so the field team can improve
  • Keep completed jobs moving quickly from field completion through billing
Qualifications

Required:
  • Hands-on Xactimate estimating experience
  • Experience writing property damage or restoration estimates
  • Understanding of water mitigation and restoration work
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work directly with field personnel
  • Comfortable asking questions and following up when information is incomplete
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to manage multiple job files simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable reviewing insurance-related documentation
  • Dependable and able to follow files through completion
  • Ability to work in our office Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Preferred:
  • Previous experience with SERVPRO or another restoration company
  • Experience with water, fire, mold, or emergency mitigation claims
  • Experience working with insurance carriers and TPAs
  • IICRC certifications
  • Experience with restoration job-management and documentation software
The Person We're Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Like working with both field and office teams
  • Are comfortable picking up the phone or walking over to someone when you need information
  • Don't allow incomplete files to simply sit
  • Can work through interruptions and changing priorities
  • Communicate clearly without creating unnecessary friction
  • Take ownership of getting an estimate from start to finish
  • Notice missing details that others may overlook

Enjoy helping improve processes and documentation
  • Can stay organized when several jobs need attention at once
What Success Looks Like
  • Completed jobs are estimated and billed promptly
  • Estimates accurately capture the work performed
  • Missing documentation is identified and resolved quickly
  • Project Managers and crews know exactly what information is needed
  • Files don't sit because someone failed to follow up
  • Billing packages are accurate and well supported
  • Communication between the field, estimating, and office is strong
Compensation & Schedule
  • $55,000–$75,000 annual salary, depending on experience
  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday
  • 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Benefits available
  • Paid time off
  • Opportunity for long-term growth
