Position SummaryThe Department of Visual Arts at Anne Arundel Community College is seeking a part-time animation instructor to guide students in the fundamentals of visual storytelling, teaching core principles of animation, focusing on traditional hand drawn frame-by-frame techniques, and stop-motion production. Applicants should be prepared to teach online Sync.
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Department seeks instructors in particular to teach the following courses:
Animation 1
- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online and/or off-campus classes.
Required QualificationsCandidates should be an active practitioner in the discipline and should possess a Master of Fine Arts in a related discipline. Please include a link to an online portfolio containing samples of professional work that demonstrate expertise in this area.
Preferred QualificationsTwo years teaching experience in Animation or related discipline at the college level.
CompensationThe pay rate for this position is $1,170.00-$1,263.00/faculty load hour.
