Position Summary:
The client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and qualification of complex electronic hardware for advanced seabed hydrophone systems. This role requires expertise in analog and digital circuit design, FPGA development, PCB design, hardware integration, and system testing. The engineer will provide technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle while ensuring projects meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
- Lead the design and development of complex electronic hardware and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
- Design analog, digital, power, and FPGA-based circuits using industry-standard engineering tools.
- Develop PCB layouts utilizing Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, and related design software.
- Perform circuit simulation and analysis using LTSpice.
- Develop FPGA solutions using Xilinx Vivado, VHDL, and Verilog.
- Integrate, troubleshoot, qualify, and test electrical hardware and complete systems.
- Support customer installations and provide field troubleshooting as needed.
- Prepare technical documentation, including test procedures, specifications, design reviews, white papers, and technical presentations.
- Develop cost estimates and provide technical input for proposal activities.
- Lead engineering efforts while ensuring compliance with project cost and schedule objectives.
- For Level 5, serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Senior Electrical Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Senior Electrical Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Level 4:
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience (or 4 years with a Master's). - Level 5:
Minimum 9 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with a Master's). - U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
